Hm, I am not entirely sure why, but the list of latest topics on the portal page seems to be using a large font. I think using a smaller font there would fit better... but it probably requires some template hacking. Red Face

OMG !!!

The admin control panel supports template editing. This is total madness!!! In other words: I have been able to apply a smaller font in the portal index. Pleased

This is so cool... I can do any kind of customizing of the header too now. So... how do you want it?

Hahahaha! Exactly! It is rather cool! I am starting to have ideas lol....
And it also seems to work which is a bonus lol! Now we can hack as much as we like without affecting the Standard style. The possibilities are, well, practically endless....

I dunno.. it terms of work to be done:
a) I would like to sort out the buttons
b) Forum view - I will have another peek at wbbmods - it must be something simple
c) Logo - arghhhhh!
d) 3 million other things I don't remember at the moment (thank God hehehe)

Right! I just checked the wbbmods again and they have the same problem - when I logoff I am kicked back to "index.php"
I, frankly speaking, don't care that much about "Forum View" anymore hehehe... and the "hacked" view (i.e. renaming index.php to something else) seems to work - I know that there are references to it all over the place, but those references are now references to "portal.php" anyway hehehehe.. as far as I can tell "index.php" displays list of Forums - from then on it is "board.php" which displays lists... so I can't think of any other implication of just using renamed "index.php" (apart from the fact that it is a hack - but since others have the same problem - I am sure it will be sorted out sooner or later hehehe). There is some code on wbbmods which is supposed to redirect to "portal.php" but apparently it doesn't work:

Looks like perhaps I managed to hack it - had to change 2 templates in wbb2 directory - login.php and logout.php. Now we need the Forum button!

madBoard must be at least 2 years old by now and I hate it because it is a convoluted mess.
But by now it has enough words and phrases to make a wonderful story.
But by now it has some absolutely brilliant and priceless stuff in it, stuff nobody has seen or will ever see.
But it is ORGANIZATION which is always the most important thing, the CONTENT always comes second.
And if organzing the CONTENT is more valuable than the CONTENT itself...

Well, I would check with squinch before I patted myself upon the back, since she cannot log in at alll, and her heart is breaking over it....and not that she knows anything about logging in as other members, but she has called them all, and none of them can log in either!
