" politics or religion "

I was in PC World on Saturday and overheard the sales guy talking to customers saying a P4 2GB was 8x faster then a Celeron 2GB..

That?s like a car manufacture or sales rep saying this new car will only go 10MPH and this new car goes 80MPH... That?s a mighty big performance leap..

This sort of comment to new computer users totally makes my blood boil....

maybe politics or religion are full of the same dishonest on dealing with subjects as provoke the same anger from other people...

Bloody hell! Will You stop calling me "Sweetie"?!! I hate that! I HATE THAT... I H A T E T H A T! You are doing this on purpose to annoy me, aren't You? Er.... oooops.. sorry.. wrong channel.. Yeah.. Bloody Hell! 2GB P4 faster than 2BG Celery or something?

But dear Hyper... since You mentioned politics and religion, let's throw science in to have a Holy Trinity and simply say that everything in this life is relative... including "speed" - You get a good, clean cut and You get rubbish.. sorry just a silly joke... It is also known fact that 2 PCs with the same spec can DRAMATICALLY differ in speed.. I knew one 133 laptop which was faster than 233 machine... but if we are talking about "general masses" here: who cares? It is like saying that this mechanic will really rev your car right and the other mechanic will do lousy job... for a young, aspiring man the car has to be tuned with precision of piano-tuner.. for old duffers it doesn't matter that much see? The slower the car goes and the more noise it makes - the better! Reassuring! See? Ke?

Thats all well and fine if you want to buy something that you believe is 8X faster then something else...

If you need convincing that its so much better and its the bargin of a life time...

purchase a plane that goes 100 miles per hour or one that goes 800 miles per hour.... your notice the difference.....

Run benchmarks on all C2 GB and all P4 2GB your notice a difference something like 2 ,3% if your bloody lucky.... Not saying its like a 16GB.....

The overall fact that we are even talking about the clock speed as a factor in mesuring a computers performace is backwards... lets talk about cavemen n computers....

personally the clock speed should be scrapped all together.... but programers would have to work a little harder then cut n paste Wink and people like MS would find it difficult indeed..

overall performace would be mind blowing
